Piperack Crosstie

An existing pipeline at a potash plant was at its maximum capacity.

To meet future production target, a set of crossties between existing pipelines & spare lines were required.

Acting as the owner’s engineer from basic engineering to execution, Arka
provided the following project engineering services:

• Created scopes of work for basic and detailed engineering, and execution
• Oversaw 3rd party engineering working on the crosstie design
• Liaised with the owner’s stakeholders/end users for technical suitability & operability
• Facilitated technical information flow between different parties, both internal and external
• Provided technical clarifications during Execution phase

Project Highlights

As these pipelines were located outside, the project only had a small window for construction. The existing lines had not been inspected
since being put in service 7 years prior, with the conditions unknown, adding risk to the construction schedule. These items were
highlighted in the execution scope of work, and thoroughly communicated with the bidders.
